RICK AND ROSIE ON THE ROAD – AUTUMN 2010

Friday, October 1st, 2010

ROSIE: I last got to use the computer in June. Dad stays on it, something he calls Facebook. It was hot this summer and I didn’t get to go with Mom and Dad to concerts so I stayed with Nick, my sitter, and got to be friends with his new dog, Ruby. Ruby and I still aren’t great pals but can get along and play for short periods of time before someone starts growling. (And it isn’t always me)

RICK: I didn’t travel a lot this summer because some dates were canceled and Lana can’t breathe well in the hot heat. I did sing again at the Walking Horse Hotel in Wartrace, TN in June. What a great place! Then in August I went to Ohio for a couple of concerts. We love going to Wayside Chapel and Poasttown 1st COG. And the next weekend took us to east Tennessee for a two concerts. Rosie stayed with Nick because it was too hot for her to stay in the van and some churches do not allow dogs in even in their crates. I understand but miss her when she can’t come with us.

ROSIE: My van was in Indiana the month of July because it broke down there after Papaw’s birthday. Uncle Danny got it fixed and I got my ride back in August. I like the van better than the car because I can see out the windows on both sides, but the best place is riding on Mom’s shoulder.

RICK: I guess it was good that the dates in July canceled because the van needed a new fuel pump in the gas tank. Everything else had been fixed or tried and that was the only thing left to try and so far, it works.

ROSIE: Mom and I stayed home during NQC week when Dad went to Louisville, KY. We talked to him several times a day, (well he heard me barking but I did listen to him), played, ate, and slept, while he was on the go. Who’s the “dumb” dog?

RICK: In September I started helping some friends of mine at Trinity UMC here in Nashville with there music when I’m home and am having a great time playing the piano and helping with the choir. I went to the National Quartet Convention the 12th – 18th and was on the go the whole time. If you didn’t get there early you had to park in east Egypt, so I usually went to the showcases or seminars in the morning, stayed in the exhibit hall or went to more showcases in the afternoon, and was at my exhibit booth until around 11:00 P.M. I did an hour radio show the first day and had a fun time. The end of the month I went to Salem, KY for a concert and had great time with the congregation.

ROSIE: No more of this staying home with a sitter. I’m ready to ride!
